I remind myself it is important to remember......
That although the fish jump in plain sight....... (little bullheads).....
And all I ever seem to catch is snags, rocks, and seaweed......
It is important to remember......
Catching is only a part of the picture when you go fishing.......

And if the little critters were not already well fed and ignoring my line.....
Well.....
Then this fishing spot I enjoy.......
Would look and feel nothing like this.......
Because......  If there biting......
And .....  As everybody knows .......

Here I am at the best hotel in town.......
You know .....  The only one......
I think most tourists who come out here are part of some 8-10 day get-away.... ......
Something they arrange at travel agencys for god-awful sums.....
SEE THE DESERT.....  CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN....  RENEW YOUR SOUL.....
I like travelling the way I do it.....you see more and have real adventures.....not outings....
Anyway...... I love taking it on the hoof......  That reminds me.......
Have I ever told you about the Hoof market I found while broke and wandering in Luxor......???

I love the.......   "USUAL TOURIST ROUTE" ....indicator.....
At this point I still did not know what I had gotten  myself into......
The sign did not say anything about climbing up a real mountain.....
It looks like a hiking paths sign to me.......
No fine print saying:....
You may be allowed to climb up the mountain all night long.....
In the dark and only if you are lucky and approved......
I think this sign is exactly where the Big Hotel Tourist Buses from Cairo park.....
It is only 600 or 800 miles into the desert from Cairo town......
I never actually saw any though.....
I wonder what they charge them Hotel tourists for a ride like that.....
Oh well.....   Guess we all gotta meet up on top....

 I won't try to tell you about the street lights and driving at night.......
And how some thing are just plain strange.......
Because......   I just don't understand it...... really.......I just don't.....

No neon blinking vacancy sign.....
And I'm almost sure there is electricity out around here.....maybe....
Oh Well.....  I like rocks.....   You like rocks...??

I seem to be the only tourist around......
So they gave me room # 1 at the camp....
Best spot in town.....
A guy on the bus here spoke a little English.....
Said he would set me up with a place......
Sometimes a real bed is a real privilege....
Even though I never get to actually sleep here.....
Still.....  I did enjoy Bedouin Camp 2......

You gotta love this place......

O.K.      I realize the Camel has as many scars as the old rusted truck bed.....
That is why I am walking around this odd little scene......
I may be way out in the desert..... But that Camel is looking at me funny....
How about..... You go up and pet him....?  He's probably harmless.... Right?

There is a few permanent places out here.......
And the view never changes.....
The weather never changes.....

They do actually get tourist way out here sometimes.......

So,  there is a place to eat,  and Bedouin Camp 2 as a hotel...

I tell you what.......   The AIR is fresh and clear up here..... 

What they DO got around here is a Serious Backdrop.....
AWESOME......   You should see the stars at night.... nothing like it nowhere....
