BIG BIG TREE FUN

These Freaky trees just keep getting bigger.....

Here's one of the Big Full Sized  freaky tree's......
In person...... This thing is hard to believe....
This photo does not show the feeling you get.....
When you are entirely surrounded and overwhelmed......
By the oversized and enormous mountain of a tree...
Looks like there's a couple B-2 bombers up there......
Must have crashed way back in WW 2 and got stuck....
I've never seen such gigantic village-sized monster.....
Is that Tarzan I hear....?
Probably still has Jurassic-Age critters in it's branches.....
I sure hope it's sleeping , so I can get by it......
We don't have trees like this back in the Northwest....
Wonder why no one stands near this one for shade.....
Hope it's been fed already.....

WOW......

Here's the part where I prove my bravery.......
I must let the tree reach down .....
Then let it touch my forehead......
Without freaking out or any show of fear .....
Besides.....
I'm pretty sure that all those bleached bones......
The ones surrounded in the base of the tree......
Probably are just animal bones......I think....
Thrown there by the zookeepers.....
You know......to help keep people in line....
Just a little scare for the tourists and kids.......

Here's a regular sized one...
Still.... it's a big tree......
But I can run pretty fast......
If it does get hungry.....
Not like that big one....
No outrunning that one...
Could reach you with it's branches 1/2 mile away....

So....
Just how would you know ...?
If this tree did eat someone....
Would there be shoes lying around....?
Would the zoo keepers tell anyone.....
Did anybody see a man-eating tree sign....
Maybe they let it weed out the tourists.....
This is my first time in Africa.......???
Perhaps I'll stick with seeing the the Zoo animals....

Since I am in Africa......
I'll go see an African elephant......
I think they only make the two kinds.....
The Indian and the African.......
Unless you include the White Elephant......
Or the Pink one.... if you drink too much.....
But, ...those are Elephants of a different color.....
Let's go see the African Elephant.....

He looks like he gets lots of attention.....

 Like a Japanese Shrine Park or something....
Really scenic and peaceful for a Zoo.....
Too quiet .....  Too serene.... tranquil.....

This African Zoos seems to have some monkeys etc. that you likely won't see in North American Zoos....
Guess that is as it should be.....
Another reason to travel and see the world....

Looks just like the strays back in North America....
Seems like all cats are strays in Egypt....

Probably can't beat a Camel on a Mountain top.....

Here's a brave little soul......
Living at the Zoo....
Most of the other critters would just eat him....
No bigger than a snack....
Definetly a African looking kitty cat....
Cats don't seem to be pets in Egypt....
I also don't think they are considered sacred either....
Seems mostly... They are just simply ignored....
But that's only what it looks like to me....
I surely WILL have to google this ......
A whole hive of Africanized kitty bees like this one would still only melt your heart.....
Probably bite my finger off......
If I tried to feed him though.....

What do they eat here at the zoo....?
Just fishes.....??
They are pretty big.....
And there is a whole lot of them.....
Maybe I should back on them little cat critters.....

There's a good looking Pelican....
A well groomed honest looking bird....
Not the type to be snatching up kitty cats....
No.... He surely would not do that....

Signs with English can also be a sign your still on a tourist route.....
 Sometimes that is a very welcome sign...
About three miles from here.....
In another sort of Giza.....
West Giza.....
There is no English....
There are no signs.....
There is very little infrastucture.....
But.... What there is.... is...
There is 8x more people per square mile than there is in New York City....8x as congested as N.Y.C...
But that is another Giza....
I'm at the Zoo.....
I want to see the Hippos....!!

Way Big Fun..........HIPPO'S......
There seems to be a Hippo River in this area of the zoo....
Sorta a long moat around Hippo Land.....
Anyway.....   look what I found....
A couple of ..... Hippos Out Of Water....
They are almost always in the water during the day...
It is how the stay cool in the African Sun...
These guys are BIG and HEAVY....

Is not the fear a Hippo might get you.....
But,.... It just might anyway....
Hippos kill  200 - 300 people every year.....
The Hippo is one of the worlds most aggressive animals....
It is the 3rd largest and heaviest....
After the Elephant and Rhino....
It is most closely related to whales and porpoises.... wow/weird...
A very dangerous critter......
Despite it's looks....
It CAN easily out run a human....
Probably the most dangerous critter you'll ever run from....
Oh Yeah....I forgot..... Don't Run.... they run faster.....
    
            -Don't pet the Hippos-

So that's why Hippos stay under the water.....

I've been in every room in this temple.....

I think a simple functional design is present in both cases and transcends any time barrier....

Simplicity and Functionality knows nothing of time....
