John has reached his final destination in Scotland!!

Edinburgh Castle is a place that I think John would have loved.  I think he would have loved to learn of a bit of its history.... the castle sits atop castle rock... which is actually an extinct volcano.... and that location has had settlements on it since the iron age (2nd century AD) and has been involved in historical activity since the early middle ages.  The royal castle has been there since the 12th century.

I think John would have said something like "big castle fun"

Katie Rihtarsic Said:
I'm happy to help, it's such a brilliant idea in memory of all his travels.

John has reached his final destination in Melbourne, Australia... St. Patrick's Cathedral..... just the type of place he would have visited.....
many times john wandered the streets of a city...turned the corner and suddenly there was an awesome cathedral at the end of the street...

this face is just the type of unique detail that would have caught john's eye!

Courtney made a donation and got a candle and lit it just for john
John is now tucked in the beautiful flowerbed facing the cathedral

Courtney Ann Lee So we started our journey walking to the bus stop- only to find they've changed timetables/routes on us. So we got on the 908 for a few blocks, then got on the 907 to take us into the city. The bus was packed to go into the city and we gave up our seat for an elderly woman and stood the ride in. I'm sure John was a gentlemen and would have approved that too... We took some pics on the ride in. We got off at the Royal Eye and Ear hospital and took some pics on the walk in. We walked around and entered the gate, and walked into the church and took some pics. John and I donated a few gold coins for maintenance of the church, he also thought he should have a candle, so I got him one- tried taking a better photo but an annoying kid kept grabbing my stuff so it was a rush job. We walked back around to where I saw the nice flowers on the side of the church and decided it was time to part for now. I told him to enjoy Melbourne!

John has completed his travels in Israel.....

The western wall (aka wailing wall) in Jerusalem
many leave notes and prayers in the wall, John is now resting among them

Michael Wellish Said: We went to Jerusalem, walked to the Old City, left some ashes in a little plastic wrap at the Western Wall, then followed a tour group over to the Mount Olives and sprinkled the rest around some graves there. My phone dies before that. Forgot to charge it last night.

John has reached his final destination in the Blue Mountains of Australia..

A place called The Three Sisters

Susanne Fiebig Said: "It was a beautiful sunny wintersday with a slight chill in the air and as we scattered him the wind picked him up over the valley. It was quite beautiful"
John has reached one of his final destinations in Denmark...

Egeskov Castle.... this is Europes best preserved renaissance water castle.... According to legend, it took an entire forest of oak trees to build the foundation, hence the name Egeskov (oak forest).

John resting on the Count's bed

Bettina Nørbo Jensen Said: "When I had to find a place for me to scatter John's ashes I was looking for a place that was beautiful, peaceful and harmonic. This I believe i found in Egeskov Castle located in a big forest surrounded by water.
Egeskov has always been one of my favorite places growing up and had John come to Denmark while alive that is one of the places I would have told him to visit."
John has reached another final destination in England...

it is called the Mini Dam, in Matlock, Derbyshire.

Lisa Pritty Said: "the  spot was  picked as ur brother obviously loved travelling  and we figured scatter his ashes  in a gorgeous river so he is eternally travelling  fitting i thought"
