SOUTHERN EGYPT

So.....   Here I am again .....on the Sleeper Train....
I'm heading North for Cairo.....  Just about time for some sleep....
But.....   I love my Train Photos.....  and look out that window there.....

That's the end of my ride North...
The number 6 car on The Sleeping Train.....
This has been a fun train for travelling......
Most the time the tracks are squeezed between the Nile and the Sahara.....
Looking out one side of the train is all green and lush awesome and beautiful blue river....
Look out the other side of the train and it is all Desert dry sun and sand barren......
BIG SLEEPER TRAIN FUN

Just like that.....
Fall asleep overnight on the Sleeper Train.....
And POOF.....  Your back in Cairo....
May....  2009....

It says CAIRO......
Back in Cairo again......
That was a good adventure in Southern Egypt.....
I seriously saw and did a lot......  BIG TIME....

One of the best things about Cairo.....
I love these Roast Beef and Hot Fried Vegies on a Pita things.....
Really good.......   Sold on the street corners in Cairo......

Well.....  There it is again.....The Egyptian Museum....
Only one like it in the world.....
I must be in Cairo alright......

LUXOR

Here is a one-of-a-kind piece I found in Germany.....
I can not remember the details of it now.....
I also was not supposed to photograph it either......
But, some pieces just stand out and beg for attention....
I find this infinitely more interesting than the Mona Lisa....
I can't remember the artist or the age and history.....
I believe the vile is said to contain the tears of moses.....

Being from the  "B.C.".....  This place looks pretty good for it's age.....about  4,000.....

All the way through Europe, America and Egypt....
I never adjusted my Canon Powershot even once.....
I simply left it as it was and took thousands of photos.....
So ....as you can see.... this night/lights should have been adjusted to.....
But....   not me......9,990 out of 10,000 great photos mean leave it alone....

With that old Canon Powershot a fuzzy photo is pretty rare....
So.... here you go....  Enjoy......

This Public Square in Luxor is great.....
Next to the Temple and the Nile....

This is the busiest part Luxor......
Downtown by the Train Station.....
Another city explored......
Time to catch a train....

Well.....   There it is.....  Luxor train station.....
......"Time To Hop a Train North".....
You can say stuff like that if you travel enough.....
Some sleep on The Sleeper Train sounds pretty good.....

Yes....   I TELL YOU....  Southern Egypt is awesome and beautiful.....
The Nile river valley is the best in the world...... was Aswan nice or what.....
With the best ancient Temples and amazing sites anywhere......
Abu Simbel...
Philae....
Kom Ombo....
Edfu...
Luxor...
Karnak.....
These are just some....
BUT......  It is time to go.....
Here I am on the Sleeper Train .....
About 6-8 hundred miles to the North is Cairo....
Cairo is homebase for me in Egypt.....
I hope The King Tut Hostel  is where I left it.....
On the train....  Along the Nile.....  May 2009...

Even though lots of things have been written while on and about the 2 sleeping trains.......
Traveling from Cairo, Luxor , and Aswan.....They still don't bother with washing the windows at the station....
 So.... I get beautiful scenery through a dirty window  for my train photos album....
I LOVE AFRICA.......
I stay near the river most the time .....Except Abu Simbel and Nubia of course....
THAT WILL CHANGE.....
Let's all go to the SINAI....
Yes .....You heard me.....
THE SINAI DESERT.....
There will be no river for this one....
No green plants.....
But ....I promise.....
There will be EXTRA helpings of Sun and Sand.....

This is one of my favorites......I found many at the Louvre I really like.....
Most of the ones that impressed me.....  I had never heard of....
Take a look at this full size.....  It is lots of fun and symbolism.....
I saw this Huge and colorful 20 foot by 20 foot oil in the Grand Gallery....
It was hanging just across from the Mona Lisa.....
