Been to too many countries and seen too many amazing sights.....
Too many awesome sunsets......and unbelievable places....
I can't stop travelling......  I would be very unhappy sitting at home....
This is what I do...... At least for now .....Untill something changes,....

Can anyone guess where I'm at today.....??

UHH OHH......    There's someone who looks as hungry as I am.....
Well.....   I sure shouldn't smell like food......
Of course I'm thinking of food that's been cooked....
But.....   I don't know about this guy.....

As far as I can tell......   Cats and Dogs are wild animals in Egypt.....
They fend for themeselves and humans are just competition for the food....
Maybe I should go and pet him......   You think...?      YUKYUKYUK....

Oh.....   I see...    He's just like me.....
Looking for a shady spot .....
The hard fact is......
In southern Egypt.....
It always 100 degrees....
If it is not 100......
It is about to be.....
Or....
It just was.....
So enjoy 95 while you can....
It may be 110 by noon tomarrow....
Yes.... HOT  EVERY  DAY.......
There are no cooler days....
If you think I don't smile in my photos.....

Best thing about my vacations is......
 I TRAVEL.....  BIG TIME....
I'm in a new city or town or Temple almost everytime the sun goes down.....
I would not have it any other way.....

Here I am at The British Museum in London in 2009.....
I am next to one of those ancient art artifacts that tower above all the others......
At least in my book......   This and about a dozen other pieces scattered around the globe....
The bigger than life masterpieces of ancient history.....the ones you can feel ......
The Mona Lisa , Venus de Milo, The Colossem,  and David, are of course great works.....
BUT.... I prefer The Wedding Feast at Cana,  The Great Sphinx , and The Lion of Knidos.....
I've seen them all and more.....   And I know what I like.....  The ones that "Breathe".....
Some pieces are simply able to show you more and help you feel thier presence and age.....
You know..... the ones that so impress you..... that you would swear they breathe and know....
So..... Here is The Lion of Knidos.....  Made from a single piece of marble....it weighs 6 tons.....
It was discoved in 1859 standing atop a high cliff in the ancient Greek city of Knidos.....
It probably had great glass eyes that would reflect light to the sea to warn sailors of the cliffs.....
This lion stood upon a large circular monument with a stepped pyramid roof high atop the sea cliffs of ancient Knidos......
I imagine a 6 ton marble lion hangs out wherever it wants of course....
One of my favorite "Breathing" pieces .....  it dates to about 200 B.C.......

LUXOR, EGYPT

Welcome back to Luxor..... and the Nile....
I will be here in Luxor all day and some......
I'm broke..... but I do know how to enjoy a new place.....
Time to hoof it around town and see the sights.....
Speaking of hoofs......   I did get to see alot of Luxor.....
Arabic looks all the same to me no matter witch way I try to read it.....
Tourist areas are nice......Some English words on the signs here and there....
Maybe a McDonalds....  I can tell you.....  McDonalds is Everywhere......

I'm on my way back from Karnak and I'm taking a shortcut......
Later on, after I get orientated with the train station and tourist office.....
I manage to find lots of fun exploring in the middle of Luxor....
NOTE :  Even in a small town like Luxor you need one good Homebase building.....
Something that you should be able to find again.....
Especially in places like New York or Rome or Paris....
This will save your day....

Your not really supposed to take photos of living areas or people in general.....
So I took very few of my wanderings in the heart of Luxor......
I did however......  Enjoy being there ....  people are really friendly and nice in Egypt.....
If your a foreigner on the subway or on the backstreets......where most tourist don't go.....
It is like your a instant celebrity.....   People want to say hello......
Arabic......   by the way......  Is impossilble for me .....Not  even.....

This is a beautiful place just outside the Temple and along the river.....
I spent a good part of my day around here .....VERY nice.....

This is a nice area......   Mostly for the tourists of course....

Of course there are cars and roads in Luxor.....
You have to keep those tourists moving......
Taxis can be cars, horse buggys, horse carts, 3 wheelers, or even Rickshaw contraptions in Luxor....
This road is right on the Nile.....  And that is Luxor Temple in the Background.....

Felucca sailboats lined up along the Nile river......
Tourists can get a couple hours or a couple days on one of these for BIG NILE FUN.....
Most often they are for overnight excursions to entertain the tourists.....
There are fires lit right onboard and stories , food, and even local dancers and more.....
