BIG TRAIN DEPOT FUN

So......   Just for fun......
Here are SOME of the plaques attached to doors outside the train depot......
These little offices and such run the length of the station next to the tracks.....
This is from Luxor.....  A small town by any comparison.....
Just for fun....

None of these doors are for tickets or information etc.....
Like the doors and windows and plaques inside the station....
They are personal offices for train station beaurocracy personel only.....

The best and my personal favorite door plaque.....

I did not get a photo of all the little doors with plaques......
In Egypt people notice tourists with cameras.....
Especially what they are taking photos of......
There are some serious rules about this.....
You do not want to get in trouble in Egypt......
There are a lot of unspoken things in the community rules......
If someone has to tell you not to do what you are doing......
You should know better already .....2nd or 3rd day stuff.....
So I took photos of the doors with certain obvious access traits only...
The Tourism Police are the guys in white with the Machine Guns.....
Just so you know.....
Try to stay out of trouble.....will ya.....

You would not like where this door goes......
You should probably travel a little further down the tracks.....
What..?   What's that.?....   Oh... yes....right......
You want to know why there is not a mens and a womens public W.C.....
Like with the first class W.C.'s .....Two rooms ....Mens and Womens....
Well.....  That's a good question......but unfortunetly.....
I never got past the smell from EVERY public W.C. that I came across.....
How about......  YOU go and find out......   Not Me......UH-UH....  No-Way.....
I had to use enough of them to know not to ask questions.......No Thanks....

So.....  How many Egyptians does it take to run a depot.....
Just kidding.......

There were alot of doors on the side of this little depot.....

O.K.     Well.... That's enough of that.....
Now I know why they make these little stations so long along the tracks....
With beaurocracy everyone is lined up for a piece......

KARNAK

Let's take another look at Karnak....
The biggest thing ever.....

Here at gigantic Karnak ....
Columns and blocks are not measured by their dimensions.....
They are measured by the how many tons they weigh.....
Temples are not measured by square feet.....
They are measured by how many acres they cover.....

Beautiful and ancient......
Must have been quite a Temple City......
Back in ancient history...... B.C.....

Awesome place......miles and miles of open air museum....
New things to see around every corner........
Things from ancient history......
And it just goes on and on.....Huge.....

What do you mean..... You can't read this.....
It is huge, perfect, and 4,000 years old....
How many of these photos have you seen.....
O.K.....   Lets take a look.....
Usually it is right to left and top to bottom....  not always....
Upper left is probably ....The EYE of HORUS...
With ...VIPER.....(VorPH) ....underneath it....
Beneath that is ....the ANKH......(to live)
And something I don't know.....
Under that is ...COBRA.....(J)....
Under it is ...LOAF.....(T)
Next column is something unknown to me ...
Then under it is ....MOUTH....(R).....
Then a number....1,000 (maybe).....
And ...QUAIL CHICK.....(W)
Then.......OH HELL.....
DO IT YOURSELF......

KARNAK ROCKS!!

 Can you believe there are over a hundred of these columns......
They held a gigantic stone network that supported a vast stone roof.....
That was the Great Hypostlye Hall....  Like nothing else on earth.....
Who even imagined a Hall of such giant proportions...and why.....
Well....   THAT IS KARNAK.....    UNBELIEVABLE.....
Now it is time to go......   More things to see.....Along the Nile river....

Here I am back outside the Temples......
This is a beautiful area with marble and palm trees.....
It is also gigantic ....like everything here.....
I think they cone off part of this area for the presidents jet.....
He can land and roll right up to the front entrance.....
There is so much beauty and ancient history here ......
And 3/4 of it unseen by the public with secret areas, inner sanctums , and actual treasure chambers, and god know what else....
Somewhere in the Complex I'm sure the president has estabilshed a get-away in some marbled, antique filled and gold lined ex Pharoh/God quarters on the site.....
To impress other presidents and rulers when they come to Egypt......
I know I would ....  Nothing else like it in the world...
Karnak Temples Complex would be filled with such places....
O.K.   say good bye to Karnak.....
I'm back on the road.....  on foot that is.....  and broke.....
And having a great time of it......

There is even English on some of the signs around here.....
Big-Time tourist area ......  Second only to Giza,......

Walking along the Nile river from Karnak to Luxor.....
That never gets old.....   A ancient historic area like this.....
Like walking along the Seine in Paris or the Thames in London.....
I've done all of them (almost) and it does not get old.....
I love being in the THERE.....  places you hear of ..... places people go.... places you just gotta see and feel...

So I'm on my walk back to Luxor from Karnak.....
Here's another advertisement for the Sound and Light Shows.....
They have them at about the top 4 tourist sites......
I caught the one at The Great Pyramids and Sphinx in Giza.....
Of course the trip on the underground and numerous taxis to get to Giza and back just in time to get to the airport for my flight out was certainly just as entertaining ......
Save that weird ass strange story for later....

Well.....   I made it.....
I'm back in downtown Luxor , Egypt......
Yes.....  I swear....  This is it....Downtown...
Hope you didn't expect traffic and Skyscrapers.....
I'm going to be here for a good 12 hours or so more.......
Since I'm broke......   It's time for some .....
