After you get set up on a camel creature.....
After you get a guide and ride through the gates.....
You leave Giza behind and head out for the Pyramids.....
After about 1/2 hour or so of cameling (?)......
You look around and see nothing but sand and sun.....
It's hot and so dry......flies are horrible and camels smell....
That's when you realize your actually.....
"Traveling by Camel in the Sahara Desert"......
BIG BIG FUN.......
Yes......if you want to really see the Pyramids at Giza.....
You have to take a camel trip in the desert...... May 2009
It does not matter that there is running water 2 miles away......
Or that if you drop from overpowering heat and glare......
They won't just let your bones bleach in the desert......
It was still a camel trip through the desert to see the Pyramids.....

I've hired a driver for The Giza Plateau, Sakkara, and Memphis.....
This is Talaat Harb Square.......
Where I usually start and end my trips out of the city.....
It is only about 6 blocks from my Hostel......
4 blocks from the Nile river.....
2 blocks from the world famous Egyptian Museum.....
And within a mile or so of the Train and Bus stations.....
Plus, when I pronounce it correctly.....known to everyone....

Downtown is great fun after the sun goes down....
One of the best things is the evening.... family time.....
Just after it starts to cool off......
Everyone hits the streets .....with the kids.....
It's window shopping and family time....
Ice cream vendors are on every corner.....
Food is simply everywhere and all around you....
There are movie theatres on most every block....
