Lots of tourists around here...... and for good reason......
200 ft from here is the Nile river...... This is East Bank....
On the West Bank is The Valley of the Kings and more.....
And of course just down the street is Karnak Temple......
Karnak is the biggest and baddest of all the Temples.....

Well..... I bloody well did it...... I made it.....
Welcome to THEBES...... you know...... in Afrika...
That is Luxor to you and me.......
A beautiful city on the Nile river in Southern Egypt.....
I'm standing outside The Temple of Luxor......
Built way back in 1400 B.C.......
One of the oldest places on the planet.....
At least that they let you go in and explore......
They get 1,000 tourist a day around here...
There must be 100 Cruise Ships parked on the river.....
Yes..... I tell you.... These places are for real....
And..... Even better than I thought.....
HUGE AWESOME ANCIENT AFRICAN.......
EGYPTIAN TEMPLE NILE RIVER FUN......
The other one these Red Granite Obelisks was given to France in 1835.....
It is in the center of Concorde Square......
Very prominent place......you can't miss it.....
I have seen it and 2 or 3 others like it.....
In all the Great European Public Squares....
Top of the food chain for world class ancient collectables.....
So...... like....... you know....... Just so I know......
If these guys ask me a question before I can enter....
And say,..... I were to answer it wrong.......
And not allowed entrace to the Temple........
Well....... would there be some kind of penalty......?
And witch one of them would then crush me......
Temple is dedicated to Amun, Mut, Chons, in 1400 B.C.

Here is a interesting photo...... let me explain.....
You can see the top of the temple on the left......
On the right is a Mosque built in the 1300's......
The Mosque is actually higher than the Temple roof.....
So.... you say.....what is all that about.....?
I am so glad you asked.......
It seems the Temple was completely covered by silt....
Huge River..... 1,000's of years..... river sediment etc.....
So .....they built this holy Mosque atop the old Temple site.....
I have found this practice everywhere.......
So..... When they unburied the Temple way back when......
Well..... There seems to be a old Mosque sitting on top of it......

Luxor Temple is viewable from the public squares etc.
It is the center of the city of Luxor, Egypt.....
It is bordered by beautiful public squares.....
And has the Nile River on the other side....
Very nice...... Makes for a beautiful small city.....
A excellent and improved choice over other Temples.....
2 miles down the road is the gigantic Kanak Temple.....
On the outskirts of town..... like most all ancient Temples....
Luxor I like..... BIG ACIENT TEMPLE FUN.....
